Day 1
We depart the base early morning and travel to our hotel in the Weymouth area. Spend the rest of the day exploring this wonderful old fishing village. It is a great place for a slow meander and a snoop into the local life of a thriving seaside town. Start at the pubs along Custom House Quay and collect the local hangouts along the back streets – Fish ‘n’ Fritz is a popular favourite. Then head across the river to see some of the quaint streets and local markets. The old harbour contains a well-preserved mix of old and new. Old warehouses perched on the sea walls are now cool pubs and hotels. Vintage breweries form the backdrop to charming squares. Fisherman, following a millennia-old lifestyle, chug their boats up and down the waterways backed by colourful houses transformed
into fish and chips shops or a bed for the night.

Day 2 – Christmas Eve
We depart our hotel after breakfast and head east along the coast towards the picturesque village of West Lulworth and the stunning beauty of Lulworth Cove.
A beautiful secluded cove whose existence is owed to the collision of continents and the birth of the Alps, from here a walk along the coast to one of the most famous and most photographed landmarks of the Dorset Coast, Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch carved out of the cliffs by wind and sea. From here it is a short coach ride to see Corfe Castle, a 1000-year-old castle now run by The National Trust. Then it is onto Swanage, a coastal town at the very eastern tip of the Jurassic Coast, a nice place to wander and maybe grab a bite to eat. Before we head back to our hotel. Time-permitting we will go and view Old Harry Rocks. Old Harry Rocks are three chalk formations, including a stack and a stump, located at Handfast Point, on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, southern England.

Day 3 – Christmas Day
Today, after breakfast, we shall head west along the coast towards Charmouth Beach, well known for its numerous fossil finds. Visit the Heritage Centre, see the displays of fossils and perhaps get some advice about hunting for your own. After spending some time exploring, we make a short trip to Lyme Regis, an ancient town featured in the Domesday Book and known as the Pearl of Dorset. After the chance to explore this quintessential English coastal town. We return to our hotel late afternoon in time for our Christmas dinner.

Day 4 – Boxing Day
We depart our hotel after breakfast and head to Dorchester, the county town of Dorset. Dorchester was once home to the great English novelist and poet Thomas Hardy who wrote Tess of the d’Urbervilles and lived in there for 40 years. The town is full of character with great places to eat and enjoys a rich history
dating back as far as the Iron Age. After lunch we shall make our way back to our drop off points.
